Business Directory FAQ

Common questions about business directories, answered from the verified PetroHrys dataset.

About this dataset

This page answers the questions that come up most often about business directories and about how this dataset itself works. Every answer reflects what the dataset actually records; where it records nothing, the answer says so.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a business directory here?

Any curated listing of companies, products or projects that a third party consults — including statutory registers, review platforms, package registries and platform marketplaces. They are treated as one family because the decision to list is the same kind of decision.

Are listings on this site paid or sponsored?

No. Nothing is sold, sponsored, or accepted in exchange for payment, and there is no route for a directory to request inclusion.

Why do outbound links not use nofollow?

Because they are editorial citations from pages carrying original analysis, not paid placements. Blanket-nofollowing them would misrepresent a curated knowledge base as a link directory.

Why is the dataset smaller than other directory lists?

Because unverifiable candidates are rejected rather than published. Roughly a third of high-authority directories block automated verification, and those are recorded as pending rather than added on assumption.

Do you record Domain Rating or traffic?

Not currently. Every third-party metric is null across the dataset because no measurement source was consulted. If one is ever added it will carry its provider and measurement date.

Can I suggest a directory?

There is no submission route. Directories are included on editorial merit after verification against their official source.
